this week: Benjamin Netanyahu
'Who's Who in the Zoo'
This week we will look in the cage of Benjamin Netanyahu, born In Tel Aviv-Yafo Isreal, October of 1949 as Benjamin Nitai, he changed his name to Benjamin Netanyahu so it would be easier for Americans to pronounce. (Nitai was harder to pronounce?) Netanyahu (נתניהו) in Hebrew means "Gift of God", or "God has given. His original family name was Mileikowsky which his father changed when immigrated to Palestine.
Education: While at MIT Netanyahu also studied at Harvard University, completing his bachelor's degree in architecture and master's degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management. According to a .gov site (below) "At the same time he engaged in propaganda activities in the US on behalf of the State of Israel".
Employment: After college in 1976 he worked as an economic consultant for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in Boston, Massachusetts.
As Prime Minister of Israel he has held office for 18 years so far and has served three times from 1996–99, 2009–21, and 2022– present.
